Confidential is Hiring a Director of Dining Near Aiken, SC

We are looking for an experienced Director of Dining to oversee our dining department. The Dining Director will be responsible for providing exceptional food service and dining experience to all residents in a long-term care setting. The dining experience is one of the most important experiences for our residents and we are looking for an individual who is passionate about food to ensure a memorable experience. The Dining Director will be responsible for overseeing all dining staff, managing food spending to adhere to budget, maintaining and ensuring safety and health standards, developing menus that are high quality and creative, adhering to resident dietary needs, and overseeing all aspects of the dining department. If you have a passion for food and leading others to do the same, then the Director of Dining position is for you!

Responsibilities:

  • Hire, train, supervise and empower personnel in the dining department, to include, but not limited to, cleaning, cooking, inventory control, portion control, plate presentation and special diets
  • Plan and direct activities of the dining staff in accordance with state regulations and Community’s policies and procedures without exceeding budget guidelines
  • Order raw food and supplies within budget guidelines maintaining quality, consistency and variety.
  • Assisting in preparation of meals
  • Assist in menu planning to assure resident nutritional needs and satisfaction.
  • Preparing and monitoring cleaning schedule for dining personnel to assure that dining department meets sanitation standards
  • Maintain accurate records of dining department personal days off, sick time and any disciplinary actions.
  • Maintain records of monthly food cost, supply cost and labor cost for the dining department
  • Oversee all additional requirements of the dining department

Qualifications:

  • 2-3 years experience as a cook and/or chef
  • Experience leading a dining department preferred
  • Knowledge of state food handling and kitchen regulations
  • Knowledge of OSHA Standards
  • Knowledge of Kitchen Appliances
